Solar winds can crash into Earth's magnetosphere and cause geomagnetic disturbances. Magnetopause is a boundary established by pressure balance between the solar winds and geomagnetic fields, and plasmapause is a transition region with a sudden change in plasma (ion) density.

태양으로부터 불어오는 입자들(태양풍)은 지구의 자기권에 충돌하여 지자기 교란을 발생시킬 수 있습니다. 자기권계면은 태양풍과 지구 자기장의 압력이 균형을 이루는 경계를 말하고, 플라즈마권계면은 플라즈마 입자의 밀도가 급격히 변하는 지역을 말합니다.
